Our Story

Atrapos · Yakima, Washington

It started with an idea.

Atrapos began with a simple interest in design, technology, and what makes a website stand out.

01Origins

It's in the smaller decisions.

I started building websites because I liked the challenge of taking an idea and turning it into something real.

As I worked on different designs, I became more interested in the smaller decisions that make a website feel different. The typography, the layout, the way everything comes together.

What started under my own name eventually became Atrapos, an independent design and development studio based in Washington.

The mark. The A in the Atrapos monogram has a single copper thread for a crossbar, cut just before the right leg. It's a quiet nod to Atropos, the Fate in Greek myth who cuts the thread.

02A different approach

A website should feel as considered as the business itself.

That means understanding what makes each business different and building around it.

Every decision should have a reason behind it, whether it's how a page looks, how someone moves through it, or how easily they can get in touch.

  1. Typography

Type sets the tone before anyone reads a word. I choose typefaces for each business and give them room to breathe.

  2. Layout

A clear grid and generous space, so the most important thing on every page is obvious at a glance.

  3. Imagery

Your own photos of your own work come first. Every image is cropped and placed to show something a customer cares about.

  4. Experience

Someone on a phone, in a hurry, should find your number, your services and your hours without having to think about it.

  5. Writing

Short, plain sentences that sound like you. If a line doesn't help a customer decide, it comes out.

Good design should feel natural. It should make sense without needing an explanation.

03 · The founder

Hi, I'm Noah.

I design and build every Atrapos website myself, from the first conversation to the day it goes live.

When you call, text or email, you reach me. There's no account manager in between and no hand-off to someone you haven't met. The person you explain your business to is the person making the decisions about your site.

04Today

Just getting started.

Atrapos is a young studio, and I'm not trying to pretend otherwise.

Right now, the focus is on creating strong work, building relationships with businesses, and establishing a reputation through the projects I take on.

I'm building Atrapos with a long-term vision, but my attention is on the work in front of me.
